Kom met ons ontdekken wat er nu groeit, kruipt, slingert en fladdert aan de opnieuw kronkelende Amelvonnesbeek!

Three years ago, we restored the Amelvonnesbeek in Meise Botanicac Garden, transforming what was once a dead straight stream back into a meandering watercourse. Now we’re absolutely eager to see what’s currently growing, crawling, slithering and fluttering about…

During Biodiversity Week, we invite you to join us in mapping this biodiversity — with friends, family or simply on your own. We’ll do this by recording the different animal and plant species we spot in the free Obsidentify app. We’ll provide identification charts and magnifying glasses.

Practical information

  • When? Sunday 24 May from 2 pm to 4 pm
  • Where? The Amelvonnesbeek, behind Bouchout Castle
  • Price? The activity itself is free, but there is an admission charge for the Botanic Garden
  • Sign up during the activity at the reception point by the Amelvonnesbeek (Boardwalk next to the Castle)

What to bring?

  • Wear suitable clothing and footwear, taking the weather conditions into account.
  • Long trousers are recommended in the tall grass.

Important!

Nature is fragile. Go exploring, but stay on the paths, take nothing from nature and leave everything alive and untouched.
