This activity is mainly conducted in Dutch, but language is not a barrier as the teacher will adapt to French-speaking or English-speaking audiences.
A unique opportunity to take a nature drawing course with Marijke Meersman as your coach. Each season, she takes you to a beautiful location in the Botanical Garden to teach you how to capture the beauty of each season on paper.
Marijke Meersman is a Belgian illustrator with a very versatile palette.
She is a household name in the international illustration scene. Her drawing style appeals to young people and adults at home and abroad. Among other things, she creates fantasy figures that come to life in nature parks. She paints realistically with a sensitive refinement, but at the same time abstractly and suggestively.

Marijke Meersman
In 2021, she exhibited her nature drawings in the Botanical Garden. The reason for this art event was the 100th stamp illustration that Marijke created for bpost. The artistic nature of the painted miniature gems was also given a conceptual interpretation in the Botanical Garden in Meise in the form of numerous larger-than-life objects. This allowed visitors to discover the symbolic meaning of her oeuvre.
