Summary

My work focuses on using phylogenetic and phylogenomic methodologies to improve our knowledge in taxonomy, assist in plant identification, species discovery, thus to better understand our biodiversity with the aim to contribute to plant conservation.

I will apply those methods to a range of taxonomic groups such as the families Araceae and Combretaceae but also focusing on the geographical region of Central and Southern African with a particular interest on its woody vegetation.

I am also keen on strengthening the bond between living collections and science, where DNA technology can also be applied for in situ conservation.
