Herbaria: invaluable for research
Herbaria are important for all kinds of scientific research and our collection is at the service of this. The herbarium of Meise Botanic Garden can be visited physically and is also accessible virtually. Destructive sampling for molecular, phytochemical, and palynological research is possible under certain circumstances. We only lend to other institutions that are cited in the Index Herbariorum.
Every year our collection grows by about 15,000 specimens. This is made possible by exchanges, donations, and collections during expeditions by our own scientists.
