In the exhibition *Wild Botanica*, artists Mirjam Withaar (NL) and Sarah van Rossem (NL) take visitors on a journey into a world where art and nature converge.
Shared fascination
Both artists feel a deep sense of wonder at the changes plants undergo and the course of natural cycles, such as the growth and transience of a leaf. It is this shared fascination with the plant world that has brought the artists together.
Felt and botanical prints
Drawing on their own visual language, they explore the multitude of forms, structures and layers found in plants. Mirjam Withaar enlarges organic forms into felt objects, making the smallest details visible and tangible. Sarah van Rossem creates botanical prints using ink and an etching press, whereby plants leave their imprints and structures directly on the paper. This creates a unique dialogue between different materials, techniques and perspectives on the plant world.
The works invite visitors to look at plants with fresh eyes and to pause and reflect on forms and details that we easily overlook in everyday life.
