Step into the footsteps of Jean Massart (1865–1925), the pioneer of nature conservation in Belgium. Long before the word “ecology” existed, he captured the beauty and fragility of our natural landscapes with his heavy camera. From untouched dunes and tranquil polders to rare plants and scenic vistas – each image reflects wonder and precision.

This exhibition takes you back to a time when nature first began to spark curiosity and fascination. Discover the work of a scientist, visionary, and photographer who captured his love of nature through a masterful play of light and shadow.
