Research interests

I work on the use of information technology in the analysis and dissemination of scientific information, particularly related to invasive species, taxonomy and citizen science.

Current projects include:

  • B³ - Biodiversity Building Blocks for Policy (2023-2027). A Horizon Europe project to build automated workflows for the aggregation and analysis of biodiversity data using cloud computing. B³ will provide indicators and models from raw biodiversity data to policy ready indicators and models.
  • BiCIKL - Creating the links between the entities of biodiversity informatics, literature, specimens, molecular sequences and more.
  • TETTRIs - Building human and technological capacity in taxonomy in Europe
  • GUARDEN - Safeguarding biodiversity and critical ecosystem services across sectors and scales. Building models to understand the distribution and changes in biodiversity.
