Summary
As a lab technician, I support researchers in answering their research questions. For this, the lab provides continued support in the form of:
- Extracting DNA from plant/fungi/other material
- Amplification of DNA and sequencing
- Optimising protocols
Furthermore, the research department is involved with bachelor- and mastertheses and internships integrated in the educative programmes of universities and high-schools. For plenty of students, this includes work in the molecular lab. In the lab we provide the following training:
- Working safely in molecular lab environment
- Extraction, amplification, and sequencing of DNA
- Allow students to work on a specific topic (in collaboration with researcher)
- Initiation to data analysis and interpretation (in collaboration with researcher)
- Evaluation of the student
