Walking sticks and leaves
Do you want to discover the wonderful world of wandering sticks and leaves? And do you think you will be able to find all the little animals? Then be sure to visit the expo "Phasmedia: walking sticks and leaves". There, expert Wietse Chanet will show you around his collection and answer all your questions about his animals.
"Walking sticks and leaves are very special animals. You might know a walking sticks as a small, brown stick. But did you know that there are more than 3,000 known species? Most of these insects are masters of camouflage, but some take a completely different tack with bright colours and even wings! From the smallest species the size of a coin to the largest species longer than half a metre, every walking stick will leave you amazed. Wandering leaves are certainly no match for this. Their green, yellow or brown bodies look like two drops of water like leaves and they can even dance in the wind to avoid being noticed!
