Art meets nature

23 Sep-24 Sep10:00 - 18:00Meise Botanic Garden
A weekend full of art in the imaginative surroundings of the Castle of Bouchout, the cosy Pachthof or the fantastic nature in the gardens and greenhouses of our botanic garden.
Art Meets Nature presents more than 600 works of art by 60+ artists from very different art movements and genres: paintings, garden sculptures, photography, sculpture and ceramics. Besides original and rarely exhibited works by Panamarenko, Raveel, Alechinsky, Karel Appel, Bram Bogart... there will be a lot of art by several contemporary Belgian and international top artists to see and buy.
Anyone who buys a work of art during this weekend will immediately contribute to one of the charities. A large part of the net proceeds of the exhibition will be passed on to organisations all helping children who are struggling and could use a helping hand.
Another part will go towards the educational operation of the Culinary Garden at Meise Botanic Garden. More specifically, to the elaboration and creation of additional panels to make the workshops for children in this garden even more fun. For this purpose, the Botanic Garden created the figure of 'Princess Sjalot'. Using this funny little figure, the Botanic Garden already designed a few educational panels that are completely language-free. In this way, children who are not yet multilingual or who speak another language can learn the different steps involved in composting, sowing, etc.
