This year, Meise Botanic Garden celebrates its 225th anniversary. And we will celebrate this with many activities. In the exhibition 'Treasures on glass' we highlight a piece of this rich history. Thanks to historical glass negatives, you get a unique glimpse of the botanic garden when it was still in Brussels.

Glass negatives as a window to the past

It is no secret that the Botanic Garden's library contains many treasures. Perhaps the period from the nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century is best captured in our unique collection of glass negatives. A selection of them was lovingly retouched and printed and can be seen in the exhibition ‘Treasures on glass’. Discover the past and the people behind the 'Botanique', from its origins in Brussels to its move to the domain in Meise.

Exhibition Treasures on glass

The exhibition runs in the Castle of Bouchout from 12 March to 13 November.

The entrance is included in your day ticket.
