Summary
My research focuses on the digitization, standardization and publication of biodiversity data. In the ICEDIG project, I worked on tasks related to collection management systems, image analysis, data quality, semantic interoperability and linked open data. I have also trialed the Google Cloud Vision API for automated data capture from specimen images and the Zenodo infrastructure for mass publication of specimen images and data.
Besides research, I am also involved in the Garden’s data management and publication, both to our own data portals and to external aggregators such as the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).
